So, I'm in this play called 'The Dinner Party' by Neil Simon. It's a great piece, very funny and lots of repetition-based, quick-fire humor. I realize that this is one of the only comedy plays I've ever done. I've done a lot of dramas, like 'The Grapes of Wrath' - that was my first role in high school back in 2001. I played 'Woman Who Is Shot.' The next play was 'The Laramie Project,' the Tectonic Theatre's series of interviews on the tragic events concerning Matthew Shepherd's brutal beating and tragic death in Laramie Wyoming. I played a Mormon Home Teacher and an elderly resident of Laramie. I seem to be frequently cast as old ladies. Maybe it's the voice (I sound like my Mum) or the height (5'10")??? I've played a Nazi in Jeffery Hatcher's 'Korczak's Children,' and an old dame in Chekhov's 'Uncle Vanya' and most recently, a young German immigrant in '12 Angry Jurors' - what '12 Angry Men' changes into when there are lots of ladies in the cast.
Now, I'm supposed to be 'young' & 'pretty!' Huzzah!! I get to act my age, but I hope I can be funny & ditzy enough to suit the role. Yvonne is not the brightest bulb on the Christmas Tree.
